Sitabai Nargundkar College of Nursing for women envisions to be recognized as a centre for excellence in nursing education and healthcare, which would be renowned for innovations in pedagogy, interdisciplinary research and community services.

To build and ensure a quality culture with conscious, reliable and transparent efforts through a combination of self and external quality evaluation, promotion and sustenance initiatives.

Sitabai Nargundkar College of Nursing for women is committed to provide healthcare and wellbeing through excellence in nursing education, research, practice and service while fostering diversity and inclusion. The mission of college is as follows:

  • To develop a conscious, consistent and catalytic quality improvement system that encourages the pursuits of the staff and students of the college.
  • To promote innovative practices to continually improve the effectiveness of the teaching-learning experiences of the staff and students.
  • To strive to realize the mottoes of the college through the best possible implementation of the plans and policies of the Management, University and the Government, pertaining to knowledge production and dissemination.
  • To ensure a learner-centric environment equipped with the latest techniques and technologies of teaching, research and sharing knowledge.
  1. To provide highest quality nursing education as a foundation for lifelong learning and professional careers in nursing.
  2. To prepare compassionate, competent professional nurses to be leaders of tomorrow.
  3. To demonstrate leadership in effectiveness of community services and applied research to fulfill needs of development.
  4. To foster enhancement, cooperation and partnership in local, national and international institutions.
  5. To work towards raising the institutional administrative, technologies and informational performance.
  • To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  • To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices
  • To promote research and scientific publications by the faculty.
  • To motivate faculty for continuing education by attending conference, workshops, short term courses.
  • To depute faculty to attend short term courses appropriate to their professional knowledge, skill development.
  • To promote and assist in acquiring higher education of faculty.
  1. Ensure heightened level of clarity and focus in institutional functioning towards quality enhancement;
  2. Ensure internalization of the quality culture;
  3. To establish quality assurance through internalization of qulity culture and best practices. Ensure enhancement and coordination among various activities of the institution and institutionalize all good practices;
  4. Provide a sound basis for decision-making to improve institutional functioning;
  5. Act as a dynamic system for quality changes in HEIs;
  6. Build an organised methodology of documentation and internal communication.
  • Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution
  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process
  • Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes
  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education
  • Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles
  • Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement
  • Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices
  • Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining/enhancing the institutional quality
  • Development of Quality Culture in the institution
  • Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC
